The North Canterbury Woodcraft Club continues to welcome new members of all ages who are keen to discover the art of woodturning. With a well-equipped workshop and experienced members on hand, newcomers have been creating everything from bowls and twig pots to handcrafted pens and spinning tops.
The club also enjoys sharing its skills with the wider community. Recently, members hosted the No. 1 Company Rangiora Boys' Brigade over two evenings, helping them turn wooden handles to complete a toolbox project. Community groups are always welcome to get in touch if they would like to experience woodturning for themselves.
The club recently celebrated its 41st Annual General Meeting, where Life Membership was awarded to former President and long-time tutor Noel Graham. After 15 years as President and teaching and mentoring members, Noel was recognised for his outstanding dedication and contribution to the club and the craft of woodturning.
